8 S P O T L I G H T ON IRISHART In our May Design Sale, we have a varied collection of ar t works from contemporary Irish ar tists, as well as notable names from the past. Firstly, we have works by local ar tist Pearl Ruth. Pearl is a multimedia ar tist and works with found objects, as well as creating completely original pieces. In this auction, we have three works by Pearl, to include a handbag and two sculptural pieces. In these three ar tworks, Pearl has used polychrome wool as well as other textiles to create solid pieces that can either be displayed or used to their functional advantage as cushions/bags. Pearl Ruth’s ar tistic style is bright and abstract, with a very modern style. Another contemporary Irish ar tist we have in our Design Sale is Susan Brennan. O’Reilly’s are proud to have brought Susan’s work to the open market and to continue to sell her bold works in our auctions.We have two large works in this auction with the titles ‘This Wasn’t the Plan’ and ‘Second Look, Different Story’.
